Description: As a published quilter for 29 years, I’ve taken my creative cues from a variety of sources. It’s the traditional quilt blocks from years ago that seem to give me the richest and most reliable influence.

From traditional blocks and patterned fabric to today’s emphasis on clear colors and open spaces, I share a few dozen of my own quilts in both formats. As the author of the Gee’s Bend interpretive quilts for Windham Fabrics, those 8 quilts sent me on an improvisational adventure that pushed my envelope beyond the matching of triangle points! (They’re in this demo, too!)

Seven Sisters, Thousand Pyramids, Baby Blocks, The Vortex, Rail Fence, Log Cabin, Dresden Plates, Double Wedding Ring and many more were transformed with just a design tweak and today’s colors. I share a LOT of eye candy and ideas and process shots on how I went from predictable to “aha.” These are NOT your grandmother’s quilts!
